This weekend I'm feeling such a conflict between sheer panic and stress for all my finals that are going on this week against the fact that I will be home next weekend and can finally relax! The exhaustion of living in New York City is finally catching up with me as I begin to STOP! Saturday morning I had set my alarm for 7:30AM to have one of my usual working weekend mornings, and of course I slept through my alarm until 10:30AM when I had to rush into school for my Saturday Stage Combat class! All was not lost though as straight after class I was heading along to the Irish Repertory Theatre on 22nd Street to see my dear friend Zoe Watkins in the Off-Broadway play "The Pigeon in the Taj Mahal". I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the show was! It just made for the perfect afternoon! Saturday in New York City was absolutely freezing so arriving into the gorgeous Box Office/Lobby area of the Irish Rep felt so wonderfully festive as everyone shed their jackets, gloves and scarves, and I think the Box Office staff were burning a Christmas Candle because the whole room smelt amazing! I sat throughout the show with Zoe's father, Trevor and it was so great to share that with him. Zoe did incredibly well and after such an amazing year in various shows and a very full schedule it was very heart-warming and a very proud moment to see her in such an incredible piece of theatre giving such an amazing performance, the week before heading home. If you find yourselves in New York over the next two weeks I highly recommend checking out the show "The Pigeon in the Taj Mahal" at the Irish Repertory Theatre!
After the show I wandered up to Gino's apartment to cook off some food and unwind. In recent weeks my anxiety has presented itself a lot more than usual which has left me so so exhausted and headachey. I have put it down to the change in pace at the moment alongside getting ready to head home, so I really wanted to take Saturday evening to catch up on some work and just unwind and get ready for the week ahead!! I absolutely loved just chilling, cooking off some food whilst watching Home Alone! The Red Wine helped aswell....
This morning (Sunday morning) Gino & I got up early to shoot our Christmas cards. Yes! We're sending friends and family Christmas cards that have pictures of our mugs on them, how American of us! However joking aside we thought it would be a fun little thing to do each Christmas to see how much we've changed each year!!! Here is a sneak peek of some of the shots! I'll post in future BLOGMAS's which one we went with!!
I know...how sickeningly cute and vom-worthy! ;)
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend and are getting prepared during this penultimate weekend before Christmas!!!!! I can't believe that I am heading home this week! Madness!
HAPPY BLOGMAS EVERYONE!
