Everyday Essentials: 3 Summer Skincare Must Haves

Now I don't know about you guys, but I am struggling this year with the heat! New York is experiencing some of the muggiest/humid days and my skin cannot cope from going in and out of the AC'd building. I know you guys back in England are also experiencing the same, without the added plus of an AC in every building! All of this means one thing, irritated skin, unnecessary breakouts and excess sweating. The WORST. Luckily, after experiencing a "New York Summer" last year, (something that I can only describe as living in a hot, sweating-oven), I knew that my wardrobe, skincare and lifestyle had to drastically shift in the future. This year a huge help for me has been skincare.

My routine previously consisted of an occasional facemask before bed, a facial exfoliation once every two/three days, and moisturizing everyday. A routine that barely got me through the first week of summer, last year, before I found my face breaking out. This year I have introduced a daily skincare routine that enables me to get through different types of days that we have had this summer so I thought I would share with you guys, the products that I have found to really work for me!

As always I have included three different products, that can be found at three different price points, not as an attempt of comparison, but simply because I found each of the products work great for different reasons. Enjoy!

1. Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser w/ Saw Palmetto & Mint - $23
I am an absolute sucker for anything smelling like mint, and Gino is too. He grabbed this product not too long ago to really cleanse his face at the beginning of the day and it has seen drastic results in maintaining clear and controlled skin throughout the day. I use it on the days where I know it is going to be humid, it does not dry out the skin but you can feel the tingling sensation of a deep cleanse. I allows me to leave the shower feeling fresh and moisturised without a greasy layer of product. I can do my hair, shove on my glasses and face the muggy day without already feeling oily.

On the slightly more higher end of the price range, this product is great for for use every once in a while and you really reap the benefits after the use. In the past I have been hooked on Origin's facial masks and so it was really great to try out some of their other products. I will say that Origin's scents are INCREDIBLE and they will smell so good that you will want to wash/moisturize/exfoliate your face constantly....forever.

2. PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash - $10
Guys. Stop what you are doing. And go get this product. Return home. Wash your face. Thank me later.
Don't worry this isn't a forceful product placement but more an aggressive recommendation! I. SWEAR by this product. This facial wash is my daily go-to, for around a month now. I was experiencing breakouts all over my face which is something I never have had too much trouble with, so of course after changing parts of my diet and including more water, I wanted a quick fix product that was going to really eliminate any acne that decided to show up to the party. So many friends of mine had recommended this wash and Gino has had it in his shower for as long as I have known him. Now I know why!

I have been using the PanOxyl wash in the shower daily, if I feel like the air is not as humid. A few people I've spoken to have found the product to dry the skin so I tend to use this on the days that are a bit less humid as I tend to apply a light moisturizer on top!

3. Clearasil Rapid Action Daily Facial Wash - $6
Back when I was a teenager, I was one of those kids that tackled their early-teenage-year-acne with Clearasil products so I always love going back to try their new updated products. This face wash smells SO good and I love the way it feels on my skin in the shower. Gino's skin worked really well with this product and he found it was a facial wash that really worked for him. For me it has been a great product to use in the "end-of-the-day" showers. During the summer I absolutely love having a nice cool shower before going to bed.

Of course you don't want to use too many products before you sleep, but I found this really left my face feeling nice and fresh/clean after a long day of working/commuting in the city. It is such a cheap product that I know for a fact that we will most definitely be buying the facial wash, time and time again!

I am someone who is an absolute sucker for beauty and skincare recommendations so please feel free to let me know in the comments if you have any for me! You can also contact me via all my social media!

I hope the you all have a lovely rest of the week!
